The POs of RVM (SSA) of all Districts except West Godavari and Hyderabad, and the Secretaries of APREIS, APSWREIS and APTWREIS are informed that as the academic year is coming to an end, and there is need for uniformity in the KGBV functioning in the academic year 2014-15, the following instructions are issued:
Summer Camps for KGBV Schools during 2014
  1. a) The last working day for staff for the academic year 2013-14 is 30th April. All staff should be available in the KGBVs till 30th April, 2014. 
  2. b) The KGBVs will reopen on June 01, 2014. All staff should report back to duties on June, 01, 2014. 
  3. c) The following staff have to attend the KGBV during the month of May also as they are being paid for 12 months: (i) Special Officer, (ii) Accountant, (iii) Night Watchwoman, (iv) Sweeper cum sanitation worker. 
  4. d) During the month of May, the Special Officers are required to plan for the enrolment drives that should be done in convergence with the MEOs, NGOs, Anganwadi Workers, etc. The POs, GCDOs, and ALS Coordinators should work in convergence with the NGOs running RSTCs identify the eligible children and enrol them in the KGBVs. The Special Officer and the CRTs are required to conduct Enrolment Drives for the KGBVs from June 1st onwards, to identify and mobilize the eligible children. The expenses incurred on the enrolment drives may be met from savings of the recurring budget from 2013-14. 
  5. e) Summer camps may be conducted in the districts – not more than 1 or 2 per district – basing on the requirement and number of orphans and semi-orphans in the KGBVs in the District. Apart from the orphans and semi-orphans, if there are any other children who have difficult circumstances in their home and would like to stay back in the KGBV, then these may be treated as a special case and they can be admitted into the summer camps. There shall be no more than 100 children in each KGBV and the focus shall be on recreational and skill building activities. The Project Officers, RVM (SSA), are responsible for conduct of Summer Camps where required, and a request may be forwarded to the undersigned accordingly. Following is the staff structure and financial norms for the summer camps and the budget for the summer camps may be met from savings of the recurring budget from 2013-14.

Duty Timings for KGBV Staff: Minimum 3 adults should be present at night in the KGBV. Every night the following will be present – 1 CRT on rotation, 1 SO/ANM/PET on rotation, 1 Watchwoman

9 Night Watchwoman 5:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m. 6 nights a week
10 Cooks 6:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m.
On Sundays and Holidays the following staff should be present in the KGBV:
  1. 1 CRT on rotation basis
  2. Either  ANM or PET on rotation basis
  3. Cooks
  4. Day Watch woman, Night Watch Woman, Sweeper and office Attendant any 2 of them should be there in rotation basis
  5. The SO should visit the KGBV at least once during the day on holidays.

Note: ANM should supervise Kitchen, Dining Hall, dormitory, Bathrooms and School premises and is responsible for the cleanliness of the premises. For this purpose she should maintain a register.
