AP State Level National Merit cum Means Scholarship Examination for Class VIII for 2017 Notification Released. Under the "N.M.M.S Scheme" . NMMS 2017 National Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme 2017. The Ministry for Human Resource Development, Government of India has launched centrally sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (N.M.M.S.S). Under this scheme an examination will be conducted and selected candidates will get the scholarship.
Every year 1, 00,000 students will be selected throughout India. Out of which 4087 scholarships are being allotted to Residuary Andhra Pradesh and have been distributed among the districts basing on enrollment in VII and VIII Classes for each academic year.

As per Rc.No.03/E2/2017 Dated: 19-08-2017 It is hereby notified that the State Level National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination for class VIII will be conducted on 05-11-2017 (Sunday) from 10.00 AM to 01.00 PM in Telugu/ Hindi/ Urdu/ English media at all Revenue Divisional I lead Quarters of 13 Districts in the State. The due dates may be downloaded from the web site "www.bseap.org". The applications will be received through online procedure.

NMMS 2017 National Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme 2017

  • This examination is conducted every year in the month of November for the students in class VIII studying inGovernment/ Local Body/Municipal/Aided Schools are eligible for this examination.
  • The candidates who got minimum 55% of marks for OC/BC candidates and 50% for SC/ST in VII Standard.
  • The beneficiaries are being selected basing on the merit and as per the reservation norms followed by the state.
  • State Norms including 3% reservation for P.H candidates. (S.C 15%; S.T 6%; B.C-A 7%; B.C-B 10%; B.C-C 1%; B.C-D 7% ; BC-E 4%).
I) ELIGIBILITY: A candidate who has/is 
  • (i) Scored at least 55% of marks in case of OC/I-3C and 50% of marks in case of SC/ST/PH or equivalent grade i.c., a for all categories in class VII Examination studied during the year 2016-17. (ii) Studying in ZP/Government /Local Body /Government aided schools only 
  • (iii) Whose parental annual income (both Parents put together) is below Es.1,50,000/- from all sources for which candidates have to produce latest original Annual Income. Certificate issued by the MRO, in case of Private employee and certificate issued by the employer in case of Government employee. The students who are studying VIII class in A.P.Residential High Schools, A.P. Social Welfare Residential Schools, A.P.Tribal Welfare Residential High Schools, Government Ashram High Schools and Kasturba Residential Schools, Model schools with residential facility, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas and in Private unaided Schools are not eligible to appear for NMMS Examination. 
  • (iv) Candidate has also to submit the original caste certificate (issued by the MRO) to the I leadmaster. 
  • (v) Candidate has also to submit the Original VII class Pass Memo of Marks to the Headmaster. 

II.  Examination fee is Rs.100/- for OC/BC students & Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PH students. The examination .fee has to be paid through SBI Collect only (follow user guide available in website www.bseap.org). The following are the due dates for remittance of examination fee and for submission of applications. 
  • a) Last date for upload the candidate's application by the concerned Head Masters - 18-09-2017 
  • b) Last date for payment of examination fee. 20-09-2017 
  • c) Last date for submission of printed nominal rolls along with other 
  • enclosures in the 0/o. The District Educational Office concerned by the School HMs  22-09-2017 
  • d) Last date for submission of printed Nominal Rolls by the concerned DEO's (after thorough scrutiny of printed NRs with original certificates of Income, VII pass memos and caste etc., and certify on the NE with designation stamp) in the 0/o. the Director of Government Examinations, A.P., Hyd.-25-09-2017

Procedure for Selection of Awardee Students:
Each State/UT will conduct its own test for selection of students for the award of  the Means-cum-Merit Scholarship. The State Level Examination may consist of the following two tests.
  • (i) Part-I Mental Ability Test (MAT) 
  • (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) 
  1. (i) Part I: Part I is confined to Mental Ability Test (MAT) consisting 90 compulsory questions.
  2. (ii) Part II: Part II is confined to Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) consisting of 90 compulsory questions from eight subjects (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics).
  3. Time for Part I is 90 minutes and for Part II is 90 minutes. 30 minutes extra per each part will be provided for physically disabled students.Each question carries 1 (one) mark
  4. All questions in the booklets are objective type. For each question FOUR or FIVE possible answers are given but only one is correct. Your task is to find out the correct answer and mark your choice in the OMR Answer Sheet.
Merit List of Candidates will be prepared for each District Separately. The Minimum Qualifying Marks for each Paper will be 40% for General, 35% for BC Category and 25% for SC/ST/Physically disabled to be eligible for award of scholarship.
