NMMS 2014 National Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme 2014-15 - Notification

AP State Level National Merit cum Means Scholarship Examination for Class VIII for 2014 Notification Released. Under the "N.M.M.S Scheme" The selected Students will be awarded Scholarship of Rs.6000 per annum from Class IX onwards and continues till Class XII. The NMMS Examination for 2014 will be conducted on 02-11-2014 (Sunday) from 10.00 AM to 01.00 PM in Telugu/ Hindi/ Urdu/ English media at all Revenue Divisional Head Quarters of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.

  • Eligibility for NMMS Scholarships
  • Must be studying Class VIII in this current academic Year in ZP/Government/Local Body/Government Aided Schools only.
  • Scored at least 55% of marks in case of OC/BC and 50% of marks in case of SC/ST/PH or equivalent grade i.e., B+ for all categories in class VII Examination studied during the year 2013-14
  • Parental Annual Income (Both Parents put together) is below Rs.1,50,000/- from all sources for which candidates have to produce latest original Annual Income Certificate issued by MRO, in case of Private Employe and certificate issued by the employer in case of Government Employee.
  • The Students studying VIII Class in APRS, APSWREIS, AP Tribal Welfare Residential High Schools, Govt Ashram High Schools and Kasturba Residential Schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas and in Private Unaided Schools are NOT ELIGIBLE to appear for the Examination.
  • Candidate has also to submit the original caste certificate (issued by the MRO) to the Head Master.
  • Candidate has also to submit the Original VII Class Pass Memo of Marks to the Head Master.
  • The Candidates of Aadhar Districts shall have to furnish Aadhar Number Compulsarily, other wise the application will be rejected.

  • State Reservation Norms will be followed for award of NMMS Scholarship
FEE DETAILS AND FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE
  • The Examination FEE is Rs.100 for OC/BC Students & Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PH Students.
  • The Exam fee has to be paid in form of Demand Draft through SBH/SBI in favour of "The Director of Government Examinations, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad"
  • The HM can collect the fee from the students those who desire to appear and obtain consolidated DD from the Bank, in such cases a List of Candidates with Caste and amount is to be enclosed with the Nominal Rolls.
  • Last Date to pay the Exam Fee by the candidates to the Head Masters of the Schools concerned is 1st September
  • Last Date for remittane of fee in shape in Demand Drafts by the Head Masters 2nd Sep
  • Last Date for Submission of Filled Applications along with DD at O/o DEO by the school HMs is 4th Sep
SCHEME OF NMMS EXAMINATION
Procedure for Selection of Awardee Students:
Each State/UT will conduct its own test for selection of students for the award of  the Means-cum-Merit Scholarship. The State Level Examination may consist of the following two tests.
  • (i) Part-I Mental Ability Test (MAT) 
  • (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) 
  1. (i) Part I: Part I is confined to Mental Ability Test (MAT) consisting 90 compulsory questions.
  2. (ii) Part II: Part II is confined to Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) consisting of 90 compulsory questions from eight subjects (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics).
  3. Time for Part I is 90 minutes and for Part II is 90 minutes. 30 minutes extra per each part will be provided for physically disabled students.Each question carries 1 (one) mark
  4. All questions in the booklets are objective type. For each question FOUR or FIVE possible answers are given but only one is correct. Your task is to find out the correct answer and mark your choice in the OMR Answer Sheet.
Merit List of Candidates will be prepared for each District Separately. The Minimum Qualifying Marks for each Paper will be 40% for General, 35% for BC Category and 25% for SC/ST/Physically disabled to be eligible for award of scholarship.
