Any State Govt can Abolish / Exit from CPS - New Pension Scheme. State Govt to take decision on Abolish / Exit from CPS New Pension Scheme. Can any state government of India Exit from New Pension Scheme for its employee which adopted by a separate notification?. This is the question now a days frequently raised. Some are saying that State Govt has no right to abolish CPS System and some differ from that decision. Mean while, replying a RTI petition of Sh Murali of Andhra Pradesh vide  registration number DOFSR/R/2017/50302 which was received in Pension Reforms Section on 22.02.2017, the Department of Financial Services has made it clear that the Abolish of CPS System in a particular state is in the hands of the State Government. 1Can any State Government of India Exit from New Pension Scheme for its employee which adopted by a separate notification. The Government of India vide notification dated 22,12.2003 has introduced the National Pension System (NP) only for those new entrants entering into Central Government service on or after M.01.2004 except Armed Forces Personnel. All State Governments, except the State Government of West Bengal and Tripura, have voluntarily adopted PPS for their employees. Further. since the introduction of NPS for the employees of State is a decision taken by State Government, therefore in view of this. the marker may kindly be taken up with the respective State Government.
2What is the procedure to be followed to exit. from the NPS for all the employees as a whole? No such information is available with this CFIO
