In the G.O. 10th read above, Government have extended the concessions for the Backward Classes (all categories i.e., A, B, C, D and E) till the end of May, 2021 in respect of reservations in Educational Institutions as well as reservations in services including the percentage of reservation of posts, age concession of 5 years for the purpose of recruitment subject to the review/revision of lists of Backward Classes that may be suggested by the Andhra Pradesh Commission for Backward Classes. The reservation in favour of Backward Classes Group-E is subject to outcome of Civil Appeal Nos.2628-2637/2010 etc., pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
2. In the reference 11th read above, the Member Secretary, A.P. State Commission for Backward Classes, Vijayawada in his letter has informed that, the existing concessions in regard to reservations to the Backward Classes (Other than Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) in employment and education will expire on 31.05.2021, the Commission has examined the issue in detail and analyzed it critically and considered the need for extension of reservations to Backward Classes to facilitate their adequate representation and to usher in their overall development on par with other developed communities in the society. The Commission has resolved unanimously and made a recommendation to the Government for extension of the concessions in regard to reservations to Backward Classes in employment and education as they are existing as of now, for a further period of 10 years from 01.06.2021 subject to review / revision of the list of Backward Classes pertaining to the State of Andhra Pradesh that may be suggested by the A.P. State Commission for Backward Classes and also subject to the outcome of Civil Appeal Nos. 2628-2637/2010 and others pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in respect of reservation provided to the Backward Classes coming under Group-E category of the list.
. Government have reviewed the matter of reservations of seats in Educational Institutions and reservation of posts in Services for Backward Classes (all categories i.e., A, B, C, D and E) and decided to extend the period of reservations for another period of 10 years.
4. Accordingly, Government hereby extend the concessions in regard to reservations for Backward Classes (all categories i.e., A, B, C, D and E) in respect of reservation of seats in Educational Institutions as well as reservations in Services including the percentage of reservation of posts, age concession of five (5) years for the purpose of recruitment for a further period of 10 years with effect from 1st June, 2021 to 31st May, 2031 subject to review / revision of lists of Backward Classes that may be suggested by the Andhra Pradesh Commission for Backward Classes. The reservation in favour of Backward Classes Group-E is subject to outcome of Civil Appeal Nos.2628-2637/2010 etc., pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
5. Necessary amendments to the General Rules and Special Rules shall be issued by the concerned Administrative Departments separately.
6. All the Departments of Secretariat and Heads of Departments are requested to take necessary action to implement the above orders accordingly.
