Sub: IE - Enrolment Campaign 2024-25 – Increasing Student Enrolment in Junior Colleges under Government Management – Certain instructions – Issued - Reg.

Ref: G.O.Rt.No.79, School Education (IE-A1) Dept dated 24.02.2024

The attention of all the RJDIEs and DVEOs in the State are invited to the reference read above and they are informed that, Government has recently upgraded 504 High Schools as Junior Colleges, apart from 476 existing Government Junior Colleges.

This substantial increase in institutional strength under Government management should be reflected in achieving a higher Gross Enrolment Ratio at the Higher Secondary level. Efforts should be made to ensure that all the SSC students passing out of Government Schools (ZPHS, MHS, KGBV, Model Schools, any other High Schools of Government Management) shall be enrolled in such institutions.

In this regard, RJDIEs and DVEOs are instructed to inform all the Principals of Government Junior Colleges to constitute a team at college level and contact the Mandal Education Officers of respective mandals.

This team shall visit all the feeding High Schools of Government management and motivate students to join the Government Junior Colleges and proceed with the on-the-spot admission facility with the condition that the student will submit the SSC report card on the day of opening the college. The on-the-spot admission details shall be entered in the link provided in the JnanaBhumo portal in the respective college logins.

In this connection, a mandal specific mapping exercise has been done with tagging of all the High Schools of Government management with the Government Junior Coll
eges to get clarity on the co-located high schools. For ready reference, the mandal specific mapping has been put in the Annexure-I. Visualization will be available on GATI SHAKTI Portal. The login credentials for all RJDs and DVEOs in GATI SHAKTI portal are being created and shall be shared soon.

Therefore, all the RJDIEs and DVEOs are instructed to inform above to all the Principals of Government Junior Colleges to ensure that optimum number of students should be filled in the Junior Colleges as per capacity (88 per section for General Courses, 40 per section for Non-Paramedical Vocational courses and 30 per section for Paramedical Courses) as part of this Enrolment Campaign.

Please treat this as most important and ensure that the campaign yields the desired results in terms of increase in enrolment in Government Junior Colleges and High Schools Plus in Academic Year 2024-25. This shall be monitored on a regular basis from 1st April, 2024 onwards.
