ORDER:
The attention of all the Regional Joint Directors and District Educational Officers in the state is invited to the references read above and they are informed that it is proposed to organize Science Fairs for the academic year 2025–26 at School, Mandal, District, and State Levels to promote scientific temper, creativity, and innovation among students and teachers, as per the guidelines of NCERT (RBVP–2025) and the Southern India Science Fair (SISF–2025) coordinated by VITM, Bengaluru and also instructed to organize the Science Fairs in the districts as per the thematic areas given below:

1. NCERT – RBVP–2026

Main Theme: STEM for Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat Seven Sub-Themes:
  • 1. Sustainable Agriculture
  • 2. Waste Management and Alternatives to Plastics
  • 3. Green Energy
  • 4. Emerging Technologies
  • 5. Recreational Mathematical Modelling
  • 6. Health and Hygiene
  • 7. Water Conservation and Management
These sub-themes must be strictly followed for 7 Group Projects from each district.

2. SISF–2026 Subject Areas :-

(For Individual & Teacher Projects)
Districts shall select 2 Individual Projects and 2 Teacher Projects from the following approved subject areas:
  • 1. Physics
  • 2. Chemistry
  • 3. Mathematics
  • 4. Earth and Space Science
  • 5. Environmental Science
  • 6. Engineering
  • 7. Bioscience or Biochemistry
  • 8. Computer Science
Accordingly, all Regional Joint Directors of School Education (RJDs) and District Educational Officers (DEOs) are hereby directed to ensure the smooth and timely conduct of the Science Fairs at their respective levels as per the schedule below:

  • 1. Regional Joint Directors shall monitor overall implementation of Science Fairs in their respective regions.
  • 2. District Educational Officers shall ensure the conduct of School, Mandal,and District Level Science Fairs strictly as per the schedule.
  • 3. DSOs must organize the District Level Science Fair on or before 12th December 2025 under the direct supervision and guidance of the concerned DEO.
4. The District Level Science Fair must select 11 exhibits from each district as follows:
  • 7 Group Projects (one for each RBVP–2025-26 sub-theme)
  • 2 Individual Projects (as per SISF–2025-26 areas)
  • 2 Teacher Projects (as per SISF–2025-26 areas)
5. After the District Level selections, the selected students shall be sent to the State Level Science Fair. The date and venue will be intimated separately.

6. DEOs and DSOs should ensure transparent judging, uniform evaluation, and proper documentation at all levels.

7. Wide publicity shall be given to all schools to ensure maximum participation.

8. After completion of the District Level Science Fair, the list of selected 11 exhibits shall be sent immediately to the Director, SCERT.

9. RJDs and DEOs must ensure that no delays or deviations occur; any issues must be reported promptly to the Director of School Education.

Therefore, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers are instructed to take necessary action to successfully organize the Science Fairs at School, Mandal, and District Levels as per the above guidelines. They are also permitted to utilize the funds released vide reference 4th read above for the above said purpose.
