Celebrate Language Festivel 2026, Schedule, Allotted Budget Day Wise Activities to be conducted. Outlines of the Language Festival 2025-26 in Andhra Pradesh, sanctioned by the State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha. The project allocates a total of Rs. 52,00,000 (Rs. 2 Lakhs per district) to conduct language festivals across elementary, secondary, and senior secondary schools. 

The primary goals are to cultivate independent reading habits, promote multiculturalism, and increase awareness of digital libraries and e-books.

The attention of the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Education Officers and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State are invited to the reference read above and they have informed that to implement the Innovative programs like conduct of Language festivals in all Primary, Secondary & Senior Secondary Schools, the Project Approval Board has approved the budget for an amount of Rs.52 lakhs @ 2 Lakhs per each District towards conduct of Language festivals for Primary, Secondary & Sr.Secondary Level Schools. 

This is to cultivate habit of reading in students to make them independent reader to create awareness on using of e-book and digital libraries wherever such infrastructure is available, to involve teachers actively in improving reading skills among students, to create awareness among the community and make them to involve in the process, arranging a school book bank in the school for collecting books from teachers, students and donors. District may share report including videos, case study etc.

The Language festivals are to teach and provide information about the Indian languages to students and to show the wealth and diversity of language. The aim of the programme is to create friendly and entertaining atmosphere, encourage students to learn languages and promote multiculturalism.

Objectives of the Language Festivals :

To create an interactive environment among students To encourage students to solve unstructured problems, develop communication skills, and use of the second language effectively To encourage students to learn independently as well as work collaboratively To enhance creativity and develop ability to present information in different languages To influence students' achievement as well as promote culture among students To bring more children, youth, women and community members into the festival space.

Implementation Process:

All the District Educational officers and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh are hereby directed to issue suitable instructions to Mandal Education Officers and Head of the Institutions for conducting Language Festivals for Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary and Sr.Secondary School Students as per the below schedule.

19th February, 2026 Sanskrit, Hindi & Urdu Language- School Level
20th February, 2026 Tribal Language; Kannada; Tamil, and Oriya Language - School Level
21st February, 2026 Telugu Language- School Level
23rd February, 2026 District Level Language Festival. (Elementary Level, Secondary and Sr.Secondary).

Activities for Students in Language Festivals:

A. English Language:

English has become very important in today ’s world due to its International importance. The following activities should be conducted for promoting English language among students on 18th February, 2026 : Conduct different Performances and games with primary school students For developing multi-sensory activities by using puppets, fairy tales, singing, and quiz, Reading competitions (short stories which can be read within 4 minutes or 6 minutes) Short story writing, Debate on Importance of English Language, Dramatized Storytelling (English), Role play among students, Rhymes and Spell check.

B. i) Hindi Language:

The following activities should be conducted to class 6th to 12th class students for promoting Hindi Language on 19th February, 2026: Rhymes and Spell check, Reading competitions (short stories which can be read within 5 minutes) Short story writing, Debate on Hindi as a national language, Dramatized Storytelling (Hindi), Conduct different Performances and games with children Role play among students.

ii) Sanskrit Language:

Sanskrit has played a great role in the Indian tradition of the quest for Knowledge. The draft of the New Education Policy 2019 has recommended that Sanskrit should be offered at all levels of school and higher education. The following activities should be conducted for 6 to 12th class student ’s on 19th February, 2026: Short story writing, Slokas telling, Debate.

iii) Urdu:

The following activities will be conducted for minority students for promoting Urdu language in Madarasas as well as Primary and Upper Primary Urdu Medium Schools on 19th February, 2026: Rhymes and riddles in Urdu language: Ghazals, Short story in Urdu for 6 to 12th class student ’s .

C. Tribal Languages:

The following activities will be conducted to students on Savara, Konda, Kuvi, Adivasi-Oriya, Sugali and Lambada tribal languages in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Guntur, Kadapa and Kurnool districts for promoting tribal culture and language in schools which are located in tribal areas on 20th February, 2026: Rhymes and riddles, Dance performance (Tribal culture related), Songs (Tribal culture related), Short story on tribaI cuIture for 6 to 12th cIass student’s .

i) Border languages: The foIIowing activities wiII be conducted to students for promoting Odisha, TamiI, and Kannada etc Ianguages in Primary, Secondary and Sr.Secondary schooIs on 21st February, 2026 for 6 to 12th cIass student ’s :
  • Activities wiII be conducted for promoting Odisa Ianguage among students in schooIs which are Located in nearby districts to Odisha border (SrikakuIam and Vizianagaram districts)
  • Activities wiII be conducted for promoting TamiI Ianguage among students in schooIs which are Iocated in nearby districts to
  • TamiInadu border (Chittoor district)
  • Activities wiII be conducted for promoting Kannada Ianguage among students in schooIs which are Iocated in nearby districts to Karnataka border (Ananthapuram district).
  • The activities wiII be conducted on 21st February, 2026 in above mentioned districts for promoting Odisa, TamiI and Kannda etc among students for 6 to 12th cIass student ’s

D) Telugu Language: The most fragrant and sweetest Ianguage is TeIugu. It is our pride to ceIebrate the significance of such a beautifuI Language on 21st February, 2026: Speech and skit added to the gIory of the Ianguage, Short story writing on Mother tongue has a prominent roIe in our Iives, Poems and vocabuIary test in TeIugu, Songs and debate on TeIugu Ianguage for 6 to 12th cIass student ’s .

Outcome of the Language Festivals:

  • It shouId provide Ianguage practice in the various skiIIs i.e. -
  • Listening, Speaking, and Reading and Writing among students . It encourages students to interact and communicate.
  • It creates a meaningfuI context for Ianguage use.

This office has sanctioned and reIease an amount of Rs.52.00 Iakhs @2 Lakh per each District to aII the District EducationaI officers in the State in the State through onIine.

AII the District EducationaI officers in the State are hereby instructed to conduct the district level Language Festivals on 23rd February 2026 for Elementary Level, Secondary and Sr.Secondary Level, with the aim of encouraging reading habits and also for providing exposure to different regional languages.
