AP FA-1 2026-27 Time Table and Syllabus: The SCERT Andhra Pradesh and the Directorate of School Education, Amaravati have released the official Formative Assessment 1 (FA-1) / Self-Assessment Model Paper I schedule and syllabus for the academic year 2026-27, applicable to Government, Aided, and Private schools across Andhra Pradesh for Classes I to X.
This proceeding (Rc.No.ESE02-11021/99/2025-SCERT, dated 01-08-2026, issued by Director of School Education Smt. 3. Guidelines for Smooth Conduct of Examinations
- Question papers will be stored securely at the school complex for 1st to 5th classes and at the MRC for 6th to 10th classes.
- The Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) – 1 and 2 – and School Complex Headmasters will be the custodians of the preserved papers.
- Question paper bundles will be handed over to the concerned schools only one hour prior to the commencement of the examination in each session.
- School Complex HMs and MEOs must ensure the integrity of the question papers. They, along with Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs), should visit schools during examination hours to verify that the examinations are being conducted smoothly and fairly.
- In case of any untoward incidents, School Complex HMs, MEOs and CRPs should report immediately to higher officials.
- MEOs and CRPs should focus on monitoring examination conduction procedures in both private and government-managed schools.
The syllabus is enclosed as Annexure I, and the Assessment pattern for the academic year 2026-27 is enclosed as Annexure II. All Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers are requested to take necessary action accordingly. Any deviations found in the procedure will be viewed seriously.

Note on First Language options: Urdu, Kannada, Tamil and Odia are also offered as a First Language (medium-of-instruction subject, from Class I) in the respective linguistic-minority medium schools, and F.L. Hindi is offered as an additional first-language option from Class VI onward. Because these portions run continuously as a single first-language syllabus across classes in the source circular rather than in cleanly separated per-class cells, they are reproduced below subject-wise (as issued) rather than force-split by class, to avoid misattribution.

5. Annexure II – Assessment Pattern for the Academic Year 2026-27
According to NEP 2020, NCFFE 2022 & NCFSE 2023, NIPUN Lakshyas and PARAKH guidelines, the structure of assessments was revised and CBA was extended to all assessments up to Class IX from the academic year 2025-26 (previously restricted to 3 assessments, up to Class VIII only). Assessments are designed for uniformity across all classes.
Types of Assessments & Frequency
- Formative Assessment – conducted four times a year: August, October, January and February.
- Summative Assessment – conducted two times a year: November and April.
- Note: The fourth Formative Assessment for Class X is treated as the Pre-final test.

Assessments for Class III to IX
Four assessment tools: Children’s Participation & Reflection (5 marks), Written Work (5 marks), Project Work (5 marks), Written Test (35 marks).
Earlier, the first three tools were worth 10 marks each, and the last tool was worth 20 marks. This change was made to increase the focus on written expression to prepare students better for exams.

For Classes VIII, IX and X, the Science FA consists of two papers – Physical Science (PS) and Biological Science (BS) – each following the same format, conducted in separate sessions, and consolidated as a single subject for final results.

For Classes VIII, IX and X, the Science SA consists of two papers (PS & BS); each includes 10 MCQs, 3 short answer, 2 long answer and 2 very-long-answer questions. All exams up to Class IX follow the CBA pattern with Competency-Based MCQs.
For Class X
- Conducted twice a year: November and March/April.
- SA-1: paper-pencil test, 100 marks per subject, as per the SSC Board blueprint.
- SA-2: the Public (Final) Examination for Class X, conducted by the SSC Board under the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE).
- SCERT will conduct a pre-final exam in February and a grand test in March, to help students practice for the public exams.
C. Internal Marks Weightage & Annual Result Calculation
- Final Examination (SA-II): 80% weightage
- Internal Assessment (FA1+FA2+FA3+FA4+SA1): 20% weightage
Calculation: Internal marks weightage = 20% of (FA1+FA2+FA3+FA4+SA1), where 50 marks × 4 FAs = 200 marks and 80 marks × 1 SA = 80 marks → Total secured in (FA1+FA2+FA3+FA4+SA1) × 20 ÷ 280. This is added to the SA-2 score (out of 80) to give the total (20 + 80 = 100 marks).
10th class annual results are given based only on Public Examination marks – no internal marks are added for Class X.
