The attention of the Commissioner of School Education, is invited to the reference cited, wherein he has submitted proposal to fill the vacant posts of 2,095 School Assistants with qualified SGTS.

2. It was further brought to the notice of the Govt. that earlier approval of Government of filling up of 3,714 posts of School Assistants through promotion of eligible and qualified senior SGTs have not been completed because of court order. The main purpose of giving earlier permission as well as the proposed permission is to ensure that the government has sufficient number of subject teachers in all schools as mentioned in G.O. 117 and G.O. 128.

3. Keeping above in mind, Government, after careful examination, hereby accord permission to the Commissioner of School Education, to man the 5,809 (3,714 + 2,095) vacant school assistant posts by eligible and senior SGT teachers, by providing Subject Teacher Allowance @ Rs. 2,500 per month, till the promotions are given as per directions given by the court in the pending writ petitions. This will not only ensure that the mandate of the Government of providing subject teachers to all the above stated schools is filled up, but it will also motivate the teachers as these SGT teachers will be able to differentiate themselves with the normal SGT teachers as SGT teacher with Subject Teacher Allowance.

4. The Commissioner of School Education, is therefore, requested to take further necessary action accordingly, in this matter and ensure that all 5,809 posts mentioned above are manned by eligible and senior SGT teachers by 12.01.2023.
