HOLIDAYS - Declaration of Optional Holiday on the Occasion of Shab-e-Qadar on 17.03.2026 (Tuesday) instead of 15.03.2026 (Sunday) -Notification - Issued.

Read the following:-
1. G.O.Rt.No.2276, G.A.(Poll.B) Department, dated: 04.12.2026
2. From the Chief Executive Officer (FAC), AP State Waqf Board, Vijayawada, received through mail F.No.F1/21/2016-AP, Dated: 05.03.2026.
In the G.O. 1st read above, Government have issued orders declaring 15.03.2026 (Sunday) as Optional Holiday on the occasion of SHAB-E-QADAR.
2. In the letter 2nd read above, the Chief Executive Officer (FAC), Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board, Vijayawada, has informed that Shab-e-Qadar is coinciding with the date 17.03.2026 (Tuesday) instead of 15.03.2026 (Sunday) as specified in the Government Calendar, and requested to change the Optional Holiday to 17.03.2026 on the occasion of Shab-e-Qadar instead of 15.03.2026, as declared earlier.
3. The Government, after careful consideration of the matter, have decided to change the Optional Holiday on the occasion of SHAB-E-QADR on 17.03.2026 (Tuesday) instead of 15.03.2026 (Sunday). Accordingly, the following notification is issued and shall be published in the extra- ordinary Gazette of Andhra Pradesh State:-
In partial modification of the orders issued in G.O.Rt.No.2276, G.A.(Poll.B) Department, dated: 04.12.2026, wherein notifying the General Holidays and Optional Holidays, the Government hereby declare 17.03.2026 (Tuesday) as Optional Holiday on the occasion of SHAB-E-QADAR instead of 15.03.2026 (Sunday).
