JUDA Stipend Enhancement GO 141: AP Junior Doctors Latest Stipend Hike Details. Andhra Pradesh Government has issued G.O.Ms.No.141 dated 21 September 2026 revising the monthly stipend for MBBS/BDS House Surgeons, PG Degree and Diploma students, Super Specialty students, MDS and DNB students in Government Medical and Dental Colleges.
The JUDA Stipend Enhancement GO 141 order provides a 10% enhancement for interns and a 5% enhancement for postgraduate and other specified medical students with effect from 1 January 2026, followed by an annual enhancement of 3.5% from 1 January 2027. ORDER:
In the G.O. 4th read above, Government issued orders for enhancement of stipend @15% to the Internees (House Surgeons), Post Graduates (Degree and Diploma), Super Speciality, MDS and DNB students learning Modern Medicines in Govt. Medical and Dental Colleges w.e.f. 01.01.2024.

In the reference 5th read above, the Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association (APJUDA) had issued a strike notice raising, inter alia, the demand for enhancement of stipends payable to Interns, PGs, Super-Speciality PGs, MDS and DNB students with effect from 01.01.2026, besides certain other issues relating to medical teachers, Senior Residents, working hours and basic amenities.

In the e-file 6th and 9th read above, the Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada, has furnished proposals for enhancement of stipends payable to Internees (House Surgeons), Post Graduate students (Degree and Diploma), Super Specialty students, MDS and DNB students. The matter was examined pursuant to the orders of the Hon’ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh dated 25.08.2026 in W.P.(PIL) No.193 of 2026. An Expert Committee was constituted to examine the issue and hold discussions with APJUDA. The Committee held meetings on 27.08.2026 and 03.09.2026 and examined, inter alia, the existing stipend rates, the demands of APJUDA, the stipend rates prevailing in neighbouring States and the salaries of Assistant Professors in Andhra Pradesh.

The Expert Committee, considering the Government's earlier decision vide Memo No.1834189/C1/2022, dated: 28.11.2022, initially recommended an enhancement of stipend 10% for Internees (MBBS & BDS), and 4% for Post Graduates, Super-Speciality PGs, MDS and DNB students w.e.f. 01.01.2026, followed by an annual enhancement of 3% w.e.f. 01.01.2027.
5. After careful examination of the matter and in consultation with the Finance Department, Government hereby enhances the existing stipend issued in the G.O. 4th read above at 10% for Internees (MBBS & BDS) and 5% for Postgraduates (Degree and Diploma), Super-Specialty PGs, MDS and DNB students learning Modern Medicines in Government Medical and Dental Colleges in the State with effect from 01.01.2026, followed by an annual enhancement of 3.5% with effect from 01.01.2027. The proposal entails an additional financial commitment of approximately ₹34.08 crore per annum over and above the existing expenditure on stipends. Revised stipend is as detailed below:

6. Government further orders that, with effect from 01.01.2027, the stipend rates prescribed in this order shall be enhanced by 3.5% annually for all the above categories, and the same annual enhancement shall continue thereafter.
7. The Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada, shall take further necessary action for implementation of these orders and ensure that the revised stipends are paid accordingly.
8. This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance (FMU-HM&FW) Department vide Fin.U.O.No.FIN01-42029/31/2018-FMU-HM&FW-FINANCE (Computer No.402102).
