    Scope of LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026

    The scholarship is to be awarded for students studying in India in a Government or Private college/university. It shall also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and also Integrated Courses after XII Std. Scholarships shall be of two types; General Scholarship and Special Scholarship.

    Amount of Scholarship

    [A]. General Scholarship [After Class 12th / Diploma]

    • An amount of Rs.50,000/- per annum, will be awarded to the selected Scholar who pursues higher education in the field of Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS) and shall be payable every year in two instalments Rs.25000/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.
    • An amount of Rs.40,000/- per annum, will be awarded to the selected Scholar who pursues higher education in the field of Engineering (BE, BTECH, BArch) and shall be payable every year in two instalments of Rs.20000/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.
    • An amount of Rs.20,000/- per annum will be awarded to the selected Scholars who pursues education in the field of Graduation in any discipline, Integrated Courses, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses, Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges /Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and shall be payable every year in two instalments of Rs.10000/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.

    [B]. Special Scholarship [After Class 10th]

    An amount of Rs. 15,000/- per annum will be awarded to the selected candidate, after class 10th for pursuing higher studies in Intermediate/10 + 2 pattern/ Vocational or Diploma Courses through Government recognized colleges/ institutions or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) and shall be payable every year in two instalments of Rs.7500/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.

    6. Payment of Scholarship

    The above rates of Scholarship are applicable for new entrants only. Students who are already receiving scholarship from LIC GJF from the earlier years shall continue to draw scholarships at the same rate fixed at the time of their selection till the completion of their course.

    The First instalment of Scholarship will become due on 1st September 2026 and 2nd instalment will become due on 1st February 2027. All subsequent instalments will follow this sequence.

    The 1st instalment will become due on selection and 2nd instalment has to be claimed by the candidate by submitting the result of 1st Semester exams / attendance certificate. If the Institute / College in which the candidate is studying do not follow the Semester pattern of exams then candidate has to submit only the attendance certificate issued by the College/Institute. However, candidate has to submit a declaration that his/her college/institute does not hold Semester exams.

    The Scholarship amount will be transferred to Bank Account of the selected scholar through NEFT. In case the candidate is selected for scholarship, the Bank Account details and IFSC code and copy of cancelled cheque with name of beneficiary is compulsory. In case of merged banks, the new IFSC Code of the Bank should be mentioned. The Bank Account to which the amount to be transferred has to be active. In case it is dormant, the same should be activated before the details are provided. Maximum balance allowed under the bank account should also be checked.

    Note: The scholarship is paid for the entire duration of the course (excluding internship/stipendiary period), subject to renewal conditions. The 1st instalment for existing/new cycles becomes due on 1st September 2026 and the 2nd instalment on 1st February 2027. The amount is transferred directly to the scholar's bank account through NEFT, so an active bank account with correct IFSC and a cancelled cheque copy is mandatory.

    🔄 Renewal & Continuation Conditions of LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026

    Once selected, students must meet the following academic conditions every year to continue receiving the scholarship:

    Conditions for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme - 2026

    LIC GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME – 2026 FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTIONS, FOR PURSUING HIGHER STUDIES.

    (i) This scholarship is not meant for post-graduation studies. However, Integrated courses that combine both Graduation and Post Graduation studies are eligible for the scholarship for the entire duration of the course.

    (ii) Candidates are eligible for scholarship if they secured at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the previous final examination and their parents / guardians total annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs.4,50,000/- per annum.

    (iii) Short listing and final selection of candidates shall be done on merit based on percentage of marks obtained in class 12th /10th as applicable.

    (iv) In the event of tie in the percentage of marks, preference will be given to students whose parents have the lower income.

    (v) In the event of tie in both criteria i.e percentage of marks and income, the selection will be determined based on the financial assessment report by official/s of LIC evaluating candidate's financial needs and family background.

    (vi) Candidates who are already receiving Scholarship from other Trust / Institution will not be considered for LIC GJF Scholarship. This rule does not apply to candidates who are receiving Scholarships from the Government (State or Central) either at the time of selection or after being selected for Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme. However, candidates currently not receiving any other scholarship shall be given preference over those already receiving any scholarship in case of tie in marks.

    (vii) Candidates who gain lateral entry in 2nd Year Engineering Degree courses or take regular admission in the 1st Year of Engineering Degree courses after completing Diploma shall be eligible for GJF Scholarship provided they have passed Diploma with 60% or equivalent CGPA grade in the academic year 2023-24/2024-25/2025-26.

    (viii) If a scholarship recipient changes to new academic stream after being selected, and the new stream's duration exceeds original duration, the students will continue receiving the scholarship only for the original duration. Conversely, if the student switches to stream with shorter duration, then the scholarship will be paid for the duration of the shorter program.

    (ix) Scholarship recipients who change school/college during the tenure of the Scholarship must immediately notify the respective Division office about such change. Along with this, Candidates are also required to submit their official exit document, such as School Leaving Certificate / College Leaving Certificate / Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate along with the Mark sheet and Grade card issued by the School / College they are leaving.

    (x) Candidates who are pursuing courses under any stream through Correspondence or Part Time (Evening or Night Classes) and/or through Open Universities are not eligible for Scholarship.

    (xi) Self study courses such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), Cost Accountant (ICMAI) etc are not eligible for Scholarship.

    (xii) To continue receiving General Scholarship under Medical and Engineering stream, the candidate must secure at least 55% marks or the equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade in the previous annual / semester examination of the course covered by the scholarship. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the scholarship being discontinued. Additionally, the candidate shall pass all subjects in each semester to maintain the scholarship.

    (xiii) To continue receiving General Scholarship under Graduation (Arts / Science /Commerce) and other courses, the candidate must secure at least 50% marks or equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade in the previous annual / semester examination of the course covered by the scholarship. Failure to meet this requirement will result in scholarship being discontinued. Additionally, the candidate shall pass all subjects in each semester to maintain the scholarship.

    (xiv) To continue receiving Special Scholarship under any faculty, candidate must secure at least 50% marks with pass in all subjects in the 1st Yearly examination. Failure to meet this requirement will result in scholarship being discontinued.

    (xv) Candidates who pass any subject/s with Grace Marks or clear a failed subject/s in the subsequent Semester, shall be ineligible for the Scholarship. This disqualification applies even if the candidate has secured the minimum requisite percentage or SGPA/CGPA, required for the Scholarship. However, candidates who fail or cannot appear for examinations due to extreme or unavoidable circumstances beyond their control may be considered for the scholarship on sympathetic grounds, subject to the submission of a formal representation accompanied by a verification and recommendation from the Competent Authority.

    (xvi) For candidates pursuing studies in Institutions that do not follow Semester examination pattern, the Scholarship instalments may be released on the basis of 'Satisfactory Attendance Certificate' issued by the Institution, provided the candidate submits a formal letter explaining the absence of Semester result. However, the Scholarship Instalment scheduled after the date of exam shall necessarily be on the basis of submission of Exam results.

    (xvii) As a rule Scholarship is awarded to only one student in a family. However, this policy may be relaxed to allow two candidates in a family if the candidate applying later is a female or both applicants are female. In case, a male and a female candidate from same family apply simultaneously, the female candidate will be given preference if there is tie in marks.

    (xviii) In order to maintain scholarship, candidate must have regular attendance of classes with criteria determined by the Competent Authority of School, College or University.

    (xix) Candidates are required to submit Income certificate issued by competent Revenue Authorities of the State such as Tehsildar, District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Collector, Revenue Circle Officer, Sub Divisional Magistrate, designated officers of Panchayat, Municipalities or any other District Authority authorised for this purpose, stating Annual Gross Income of both the parents from all sources (including Agricultural Income) in the preceding Financial Year. Income certificate issued earlier but valid for previous Financial Year are acceptable.

    (xx) Claims for Scholarship arrears will not be accepted if submitted more than 12 months after the end of academic year to which the claim pertains.

    (xxi) If a student violates any terms and conditions of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or cancelled.

    (xxii) If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement/certificates, his/her scholarship shall be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned Divisional Administration of LIC.

    (xxiii) The 112 Divisional Offices of LIC will each select hundred (120) students. Of those 120 students, Eighty (80) students will be awarded General Scholarship [After 12th/Diploma] - 40 for Boys & 40 for Girls, based on merit and eligibility. However, Gender slots are interchangeable in the event of intra category shortage.

    (xxiv) Remaining 40 students will be awarded Special Scholarship [After 10th], 20 for Boys & 20 for Girls, based on merit and eligibility. However, Gender slots are interchangeable in the event of intra category shortage.

    (xxv) The Zone of selection is the LIC Divisional area. Competent Authority for approval of final selection of candidates for Scholarship will be the Senior Divisional Manager In – Charge of the Divisional Office.

    (xxvi) Selected candidates shall be informed by the Divisional Office through email.

    (xxvii) Divisions having adequate online applications and selected full quota shall prepare a waiting list for 'General Scholarship' and 'Special Scholarship' separately (Waiting list shall be prepared for those categories where quota is exhausted by the Divisional Office). After the selection process is over and if there is shortfall in selection of candidates, the Competent Authority at LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation at its discretion may allow the Divisions having waiting list to select additional candidates from the waiting list subject to overall limit of 8960 (112x80) for General Scholarship & 4480 (112x40) for Special Scholarship. This will be based on Centralised ranking.

    (xxviii) In the event of any dispute, disagreement, or claim arising out of or relating to this Scholarship Scheme, including its interpretation, implementation, or any matter concerning its term and condition, the decision of the Executive Committee of GJF shall be final and binding on all parties involved.

    8. Declaration by Candidates

    To process their application, the candidates must provide LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation with irrevocable authorisation to use the data they have submitted, including their PAN and E Aadhar Card Number.
