The Social Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, invites applications from eligible candidates for admission into the Free Residential Coaching Programme for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination – 2026. 

The programme aims to support meritorious aspirants from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds in preparing for India’s most competitive examination.

Coaching Centers: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Study Circles located at Vijayawada, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam.

Key Features of the Programme
Focus: UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination – 2026

Subjects Covered:

• General Studies (Paper–I)
• CSAT (Paper–II)
• Weekly tests, performance monitoring, mentoring o Printed study material

Programme Details
Mode: Fully Residential (Food & Accommodation free of cost)
Duration: 4 months (Tentatively from 10-12-2025 to 10-04-2026)

The coaching programme will commence on 10th December 2025 and continue for four months. It will be held in residential mode at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Study Circle Centres located in Vijayawada, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam, with a total intake capacity of 340 candidates distributed as follows

Total Capacity: 340 seats

• 120 seats at Vijayawada Study Circle
• 120 seats at Tirupati Study Circle
• 100 seats at Visakhapatnam Study Circle.

UPSC 2026 Free Coaching Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates should belong to the following sponsored categories:

Social Welfare Department: 240 seats 

SC – 80% , ST – 6% , BC – 10% , OC – 4% , PwD – 3%

Approximate Seats: SC 192 Seats, ST: 14 Seats, BC: 24 Seats, OC: 10 Seats, PwD: 7 Seats
 

Tribal Welfare Department: 100 seats exclusively for ST candidates (40 Vjy + 40 Tirupaty+20 Visak) 

• 33% horizontal reservation for women
• Must hold a Graduate or Professional Degree from a recognized university in India (Regular mode).
• Family annual income should not exceed ₹8,00,000/- from all sources (for SC/ST and other eligible categories)

AP Study Circle UPSC 2026  Selection Process

• Screening Test (MCQ – OMR based), conducted at District Headquarters by District Coordinating Officers, APSWREIS (Subjects: CSAT & GS).
• Selection will be based on screening test merit and applicable reservation rules.
• Shortlisted candidates will be notified through Email/SMS.
